Buccaneer Marching Band Camp

2017 Band Camp is at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, MI from Tuesday, August 8, 2017 - Sunday, August 13, 2017. Please do not schedule doctor appointments, driver ed classes, etc during this week. If you have athletic try-out conflicts please contact Mr. Novoselich immediately to discuss.

Why is Band Camp Important?

The week of band camp allows the students to concentrate on the marching band show without interruptions from normal routines at home and work.   It ensures that students are at every rehearsal and have time to work with their section. It is a week of intense study of the music and learning the drill. It is a time of bonding, hard work, frustration and fun! Your student will come home exhausted but also enthusiastic about being part of the Buccaneer Marching Band.

As a member of the marching band, attendance and participation at Band Camp and summer rehearsals is mandatory. Cost for camp is the individual’s financial responsibility. Fundraisers are scheduled to help offset this cost. All information regarding the following years Marching Band Camp will be made available during the spring. The Scrip Program throught the Orchestra Boosters can help offset the cost of Marching Band Camp. If any family has difficulty in paying the band camp fee, please contact Mr. Novoselich immediately to discuss options.

New to Band Camp?

Most students that are new to marching band and band camp will experience 3 emotional levels:

  1. Level One: I am Overwhelmed!
  2. Level Two: I am Discouraged!
  3. Level Three: This is Great!
